What is a Hydrobath?
A hydrobath is a large sturdy fiberglass tub that is suitable for all sizes and breeds from Jack Russell’s to Saint Bernard’s. Hydrobaths provide an effective, enjoyable, hassle-free way to have your dog washed in comfort. The inbuilt pump and heating unit of the hydrobath can supply hot or cold water, depending on the season and the requirement of each dog. A major benefit to having your dog washed in a hydrobath is that there is no mess to clean up after bath time and no dogs running away from the hose or bucket - the hydrobath keeps both dog and water suitably contained.
The high pressure spray produces a powerful stream that massages and stimulates
your dog’s skin, so not only is it the most effective way of washing
your dog but also provides therapeutic water massage. This helps relieve
tired muscles, increases blood circulation and has been found to be beneficial
for older dogs and those suffering from arthritis. Water and shampoo penetrates
through the coat right to the skin where most of the dirt and smell comes
from, removing dry dead skin cells, excess hair and embedded flea eggs that
can be hidden and hard to get rid of. This is extremely beneficial for dogs
with longer and thicker coats.
The way that a hydrobath is designed to wash dogs provides an alternative
to the messy water wasting techniques we used to use. The water is collected
and filtered then reused while your dog is washed so a hydrobath will use
approximately one third of the water you would to wash your dog! This is
a great way to enjoy having a healthy, fresh smelling dog while also saving
water! By choosing a shampoo that will complement your dog’s skin,
it won’t be long until you see the benefits of using a hydrobath.
We do not use flea shampoos or rinses as they have been shown to be harmful to the environment. Talk to us about alternative ways to treat your pet for fleas.
