Cat Grooming
At Nose 2 Tail Pet Care we offer a SEDATION FREE cat grooming service.
We are Australia’s first cat exclusive grooming salon - so there will not be any dogs in the salon while your cat is being groomed. Our quality grooming is performed by Australia’s FIRST Certified Feline Master Groomer and the results show! Have your cat groomed by people who have been trained in cat grooming and know the difference between dog and cat grooming.
Every cat has a greasy coat! You may not be aware of it if you haven’t given your cat a professional degreasing bath. A cat with a greasy coat, combined with shedding hair is the reason cats develop knots and a matted coat. We promise that if you follow our recommended grooming schedule for your cat (regular bath and blow dry every 4-8 weeks depending on coat type) you will never have a coat that will matt again. We even guarantee that if your cat does matt during the recommended schedule, we will give you a free groom!
Each cat that comes into our salon will be bathed and blow dried to remove the build up of grease from their coats. They will then be thoroughly combed through to remove loose fur. In addition to this there are a number of other add on services that we can provide to help improve the health and wellbeing of your cat
A guide to our prices are below, quotes will be given when your cat arrives for their grooming appointment.

Why groom cats?
Regular grooming consisting of a bath and blow dry on all cats will significantly reduce any maintenance you may find yourself needing to do on your cats. Certain coat types need more frequent bathing to be able to thoroughly prevent the development of knots, mats or hairballs. Regular grooming visits at Nose 2 Tail Pet Care will allow you to enjoy your cats and take away the worry of the following things:Shedding!
| Hairballs | Allergies to their cat | Waxy Ears |
| Mats | Dreadlocks | Eye discharge |
| Dandruff | Fleas | A dirty, smelly coat |
| Litter stuck in paws | Long sharp claws | Build up on rear end |
And remember – A well groomed cat is a happy cat!

Cat Grooming Myths
Cats groom themselves
Cats lick themselves all over, then leave their discarded fur all over your house & clothes. Cats have greasy coats that shed, combined with licking this creates knots, mats & a dirty smelly coat. Cats who “groom” themselves without help can develop hairballs, which they also tend to leave all over your house and clothes and can cause serious health issues for your cat. A cat “grooming” itself is no comparison to a professional groom including a bath and blow dry.
Cats don’t like water
Majority of cats tolerate water very well & a lot even enjoy it. A bath at home when you are anxious about your cats behaviour is a very different experience to a bath with a professionally trained cat groomer who knows how to handle cats.
Cats don’t like the blow dryer
Some cats may take a few moments to get used to the dryer, however most cats settle into the process & believe it or not actually find it relaxing. Don't believe us? Check out our blog: http://nose2tailpetcare.blogspot.com/search/label/Cat%20Grooming where we have video footage of cats being blow dried!

Short haired cats don’t need grooming
Short haired cats shed a LOT. A bath, blow dry & de shed treatment can reduce shedding by up to 80%. A lion clip reduces evidence of shedding even further.
My cat is nervous and will freak out
A lot of timid cats do well with the grooming process, in fact they often surprise their owners with how well settle into the whole groom. Our experience and training allows us to identify a stressed cat and we can use calming techniques if required.
You won’t be able to groom my cat
We have skills & techniques on how to handle even the most aggressive cats. We are happy to groom any cat, whatever their temperament. Let us tell you if we can't groom them!
My cat needs to be sedated to be groomed
We do not sedate any cats that we groom. With the correct training & techniques, even the most aggressive or timid cat can be safely groomed without sedation.
A very small amount of cats actually NEED to be sedated for grooming and if we come across one, we are happy to refer onto a vet who can do the procedure.
My cat is too old
We regularly groom 18+ year old cats. It is very important to have older cats regularly groomed, as due to old age and loss of mobility they are often unable to maintain their coats themselves. Older cats seem to really appreciate being groomed as it often brings added comfort to them. They also seem to appreciate being clean!
We can tell you over and over again about the amazing results you will experience having your cat groomed by Nose 2 Tail Pet Care. The only way you will ever know for a fact is to bring your cats in to see us. We know you will love the results.
